Hacks Or Templates

I've seen the most simplest hacks on here i myself have released as a template edit.

Why do you guys find the need to do it as a hack rather than a template edit? Where IMO it mucks up most as hacking because the files change more regularly than the templates do.

Just curious to know :)

If I can do it from the templates 99% of the time I will. The only time I do not use the phpinclude is for mods that would hog up to much overhead if they where not in the files.

a lot of hacks can be inserted by phpinclude.
This is loaded on every single page so phpinclude hacks i prefer to put into the phpfiles instead.

also sometimes hacks are faster written than the same thing in templates.

but if you can do something easily per templates then there shouldn't be a hack

Yeah, I really only go to the files when the hacks inserted via phpinclude add un-necessary load.

I love template edits. I'm editing my templates more than im actually hacking to tell you the truth, but then again, I dont know much about hacking, whatever I find I get off of here :P
