I'm currently running VB 2.2.7 and experiencing a strange error. The VB options are set to restrict signatures to no more than 3 lines of text. But for some reason the system is ignoring this rule and allowing signatures of any length. Can anybody provide an explanation for this, and possibly a way to fix the problem?

OK I did some research and it looks like signatures ARE set to a maximum of 3 LINES long. But the VB options list this:
Maximum number of line breaks allowed in signatures:
If a user doesn't use a line break, their signature could go on for pages and pages! Is there a way to set a maximum amount of characters allowed for the signature?

This should really be posted in General Hacking Discussion;)

as it's a bug within some sort of a hack you have installed it belongs to support.
you should mention the hack url nevertheless :)

This is not related to any installed hacks, as the system IS working as advertised. Signatures ARE limited to 3 line breaks maximum. What I want to do is also set a maximum character allowance.

of course its related to an hack, because limiting signature length isn't included in an unhacked vb!

While you are correct that I may need a hack to get this to work, what I meant was that my issue is unrelated to any hacks that I have already installed.
BUT back to the topic... shall I ask this question in the support section of the forum?
