I installed this hack with sucess on my test platform but have run into a problem with a previous hack I have installed that was directly impacted when I modified the postbit_attachment template. I had the "Attached Image will be smaller" hack (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?p=442091#post442091) installed and would like to still retain it if possible and hope that someone can take a look and see what I am missing.

The problem is that both hacks I have to modify the postbit_attachment template and mix of the 2 codes dont play well. Not knowing enough of what I am looking at to figure out what is wrong, I can get it to a point where it still thumbnails the pictures, and lets me do the multiple image attachments, but all the links (as well as a signature) for the larger picture all point back to the 1st picture in the post.

Any ideas?

Here is the code I have mashed together so far:
*******
<p><smallfont>$post[username] has attached this image:<br>
<a href="attachment.php?=$session[sessionhash]&postid=$post[postid]" target="_blank">
<img src="attachment.php?s=$session[sessionhash]&attachmentid=$value[attachmentid]" border="0" alt="" width="150" vspace="8" hspace="4">
</smallfont></p>
*******

Thanks in advance. I also posted in the other hack thread to see if that author could offer any insight as well before I take it to my live site.

Hi
If i want to install the hack from scratch.. what instructions do I have to follow, it seems like the instructions require older versions to be installed?

Is there something in the hack that would cause this:

Go into User Control Panel->->Edit Profile

Every user on my board has MY email address, my URL and my birthday.

This is the only thing I have hack in a long time.

Does anyone know if this could be the cause.

What is even more strange is that if you register and put in the right info, then go out and click on the email or WWW buttons it wil take you to the users places, not mine.

So this just seems to be concentrated in the "edit profile"

I am running 2.3, Mac, OS X Jaguar

Thanks for any help

I found out what the problem was....

NO reply necessary I figured it out.

I need to change the color of the text when the error message says "Your images are too big, etc"

Where do I do this?

I looked in the files that I downloaded and where I see this line it doesn't say anything about colors, etc.

I have to change just the text color on these error messages, because if I change it in the overall template that would really FUBAR the whole deal.
If you need to see what I mean, just let me know. Thanks for the help.

I am running 2.3.3

I found the answer by trial and error on the problem before this. I have been getting this error message after someone tries to upload an image that is too big:

Warning : fopen(/tmp/php3mvoUh): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/xxx/public_html/forum/newattachment.php on line 154

Warning : fread(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/xxx/public_html/forum/newattachment.php on line 155

Warning : fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/xxx/public_html/forum/newattachment.php on line 156

Those lines are:

$filenum = fopen($attachment,"rb");-----> line 154
$filestuff = fread($filenum,$filesize);------->line 155
fclose($filenum);-------->156

Also am I the only one who has entire posts deleted if someone tries to edit a post with an image in it? I am running 2.3.3

Thanks for the help.

I see that this thread was started a long time ago and it's been around awhile. However, Rake, how hard would it be to make uploaded images into thumbnails like vb3 if there are more than 1 image attached?

Has anyone but me had the problem of when a post is made and the author goes back to edit it, the whole thing disappears?

I am unable to upgrade due to some custom hacks and would really, really like to get this fixed.

Anyone?

Thanks

Can this hack work on 2.2.6?

It seems that this hack is not very stable. Anyone got it working fine on their board?

The instructions.txt is highly confusing.

Why not do a re-write that just has the instructions rather than 1.1 / 1.2 / 1.3... it's not clear if each one changes the other set of instructions of what you should do 1st

You don't need to. Multiple attachments is built into Vbulletin 3.0.x

Is there anyway to upgrade to vb3 after using this hack on vb2 and actually keep the attachments?

I've tried to upgrade the normal way and all attachments were lost. I also tried to import the attachments using impex and it only managed to keep one attachment per thread and the rest of the attachments were unable to be imported.

Has anyone upgraded and managed to keep their attachments after using this hack?

Thanks to anyone who can help... :)

Bump, anyone find a work around to upgrade from vb2 without losing the attachments?

I'm interested as well.... I'd like to upgrade to vBulletin 3 after using this, and be able to keep all of the attachments. If your solution works, I will pay you a reward/fee.

Thanks!
