I think Hearme is suspending the VoiceCreator Servers from Dec 11th. This means the end of the free ride and death of Hearme Chat hacks.
I think the only other Chat Program that maybe relatively easier to integrate with VB & UBB will be DigiChat and that has a steep price.

Perhaps the BB's should look into bundling a chat program ;)

Just wanted to take back my words!
Hearme for now has not taken down its Servers. They have not given a specific date yet as to when will they take them down (atleast to me!).
They may not be taking anymore new Signups for the service now but if you are already signup, it is still working.

Voicecreator is now down:-(! Anyone know of a good alternative? This is the error message I get:

"HearMe has discontinued VoiceCREATOR as of January 19, 2001.To continue talking with friends or colleagues over the Internet for FREE, Telcopoint offers PC Voice Chat powered by HearMe.
Click here to try it now. "

My pal Randy created his whole site (VirtualCB.com) based on this service. This is crazy, I need to have a comparable service. I'm begging you, if you know an alternate solution tell me it!

I wrote to Telcopoint on January 21 and I had this answer on January 23:

Webmaster

Sorry about the trouble creating chat rooms. Due to overwhelming demand we

had to shut down our chat room provisioning system and re-architect our

service. We will be relaunching the free service this week using the same

basic method HearMe used previously. You will run the perl module on your

website and link to us for the voice functions. If you have registered with

our site and have a user name and password then you are on our mailing list

and you will receive an email as soon as the new systems is on line.

Thanks

How about...this doesn't exist anymore....there are other alternatives here to replace it. Just do a search.
