The best Search Engine Spider Friendly Archive Hack.. Your Results

I don't use any of the archive hacks. Instead, I use a template mod by filbert that gets Google to crawl my live board. It's not doing too badly for us.

It's easy to do, and best of all, it doesn't have somebody else's tag-line on my site like some of the archive hacks demand.

I am curious to know what Search Engine "Archive" hack everyone has gotten the best results from? I have both SkuZZy's and Teck's hacks installed in different communities that I own.

So far, I have to say that SkuZZy's has been the most successful for me. Please share your results and any special techniques you might have to enhance placements. On my most popular forum I have made many "Off-Topic" forums for members only to prevent the search engines from indexing non-relevant information. I was worried that maybe there is a ceiling and I don't want to waste links on unimportant references/links.

I believe we have 4 hacks of this kind released here and ALL of them are codes of very respected vb hackers. So I'd say both will work very well.

I personally use Teck's hack just because IMO it has the best visual design. However I modified it a lot to have a different algorithm especially for meta tags etc. Although his algorithm was good enough, I just like tweaking it more. :)

It is doing great in my board. I can say that my board trafic doubled after it is installed and nearly all my threads are ranked highly in search engines.

hehe your call of course whether you'll install such a hack or not. But I personally believe that it is no big deal to have a 1 line of tagline for a hack that adds so much to your site and is FREE. Especially considering the fact that you have 2 lines of vbulletin tag line in your site without any complaints, although you paid 180$. ;)
