cookie problem in vb 1.1.4

Is there a cookie problem in this version, and if so, is there a fix?

I just tied my chat to the vB database and some of my users are having problems - it says they aren't registered users when they are - if they delete their cookies and relogin to get a new cookie it works fine - so whats' the deal?

I've seen other people post about a cookie problem in this version but it wasn't answered... anyone???

well i just had this problem with members cookies, all they had to do to fix it was delete their existing cookies, close browser windows and re-log on and it was fixed :)

I know this is a retarded question, but how can I explain to them how to delete cookies on a PC. I'm use a macintosh and it's totally easy, but apparently it's much different to do it on a PC and I don't know what to tell them.

On a PC with Internet Explorer, all they have to do is go to the folder C:\Windows\Temporary Internet. Find the cookie in question, right-click on it and choose delete.

With Navigator, they have to find the cookie in Navigator's cookie folder which is usually in their user profile folder. Right click the cookie and choose delete.

Btw I hope this is fixed on version 2, cause it's pretty stupid to ask your users to go through this process!
