This will add an "expand" Feature to a user's postbit. This comes in handy for those of you who like to add tons of junk in a post-bit and the postbit gets so long it's rediculous ;)

Handy for RPG forums who want to add ALL the RPG stuffs to their user's postbit, when somebody wants to see the stats of a user, they push expand and the rest of the stats appears! :)

$post[username] to $post[userid]

postBIT! ;)

BTW I released a mod at vBT that contracts a whole user's post IIRC as well.

Works great except if you have a user with a space or an apostrophe in their name the expand link does not work for their message. Any way to fix it?

It will work with spaces in the name (I just re-tested it) but not an apostrophe.

VERY good idea. BTW, which RPG hack is that? I've seen it before, and it's nice. :)

The RPG hack is a compilation of many RPG hacks developed by bitsys.

You can find it at:

Be advised, the hack is in Beta Stages.

Wow... does this work on all browsers? If so, this can become very useful, as I have the RPG Integration hack installed as well. :)

Is there a way to close it asfter expanding it??

I may be wrong, but I don't believe Java applets work in all browsers; netscape is pretty sad that way :/ It should work in most standard browsers though.

As far as closing the expansion, simply push the button again to close it.

This had been done before by 'filburt1' something simalar with yours.

http://www.vbulletintemplates.com/mods/showthread.php?t=1828

But to compare, I found that yours are much more easier to install. :o

I appologize, I didn't realize Filburt created one already. If it's an issue with Filburt, I'll happily remove it. Filburt's version looks pretty nice anyways, although I must defend the unique differences between the two, they're the same exact ideas with a semi-alternate approach to making it happen in regards to the modifications. I probably would have saved some time & used Filburts if I had known it was there.

No problems. Leave it. Btw, it's javascript, not java applet. They are very different things. :)

Hey, I uh, installed this, and I have a member who has a stupidly long Location, and it makes my postbit expand a bit over the border into the main post body... how do I fix this?

Try putting that variable from your postbit template into an invisible boarder and limiting the boarder width.
