View Full Version : calendar event has its own thread.

what can i do so whenever i create a new event on the calendar it creates a new thread in the calendar forum.

Presently this cannot be done...someone would have to write a hack for you...

Is there anyone willing to put some time in this, it would really be a huge upgrade of my site!

im kind of stuck right now. this is where im at. im trying to edit the templete for the calendar so when i add a new event, it automatically makes a thread in the events section by using the subject for the calendar in the subject for the thread.

how would i go about doing that, and makeing it so the thread thats created, in the description for the event in calendar it makes a link back to the thread that was created.

I'm glad you started the development of such an add-on, but i'm affraid i can't help you on this..

YES!

I got it to work.. Check out my site www.livesets.com and press the "New Thread" button in the Party Calendar forum (when registered)

It leads you to the Add Public Event box.. Over there you fill in the event properties. When finished you press OK and it does a coupl of things:

- It makes a public event in the calendar (as normal)
- It makes a thread in the Party Calendar forum, in this format "[date] title" , for example "[2003-05-16] Traffic @ Melkweg, Amsterdam"
- It updates all counters (forum, thread, user)
- redirects to the new topic

So happy i got this to work ;)
