i searched and found hacks to place login panels, member info, etc on a non-vb page, but none (that i could find) to do what im trying to do:
I am trying to insert the contents of a thread (no posting dates, user info, etc..just strictly the contents) of a specific post on a non-vb page within my site. Wondering if this can be done and how..?

This can be done using Pluh news. If you tinker with the hack you can get a specific thread to appear on a page by itself.
If you require a copy of my edited file i'll email it to you. Let me know.

Is the post a static one, or the latest post from a certain thread/forum? I've done similar sorts of stuff on my sute before.
I can knock up a simple query to pull that from your vb database if you want. Let me know...

what im doing is sort of a 'download page' whos content is being pulled from a certain thread. I will have 1 specific thread which will contain perhaps maybe 10 hyperlinks to downloadable files. I will be updating this thread when 'new downloads' become available as well.

If you require global.php, not only is the page then powered by vB but you can use bbcodeparse2() to filter HTML/smilies/vB code/etc.

I am helping a designer put her site into a database and she is implementing the vbulletin - so I don't know much about it all yet. I haven't been hired to work with the vbulletin so I admit I am not wanting to spend much time hunting down answers if there is an easy way to do what she wants - which is this - to pull in the latest x number of threads from her news bulletin into the homepage. the homepage is php and the area marked for it is a div calling an include. So we just need to put the query on this include page to suck in the latest threads as they would appear normally on her news bulletin. I have quickly looked at the admin tool, but otherwise am not too sure of the hows and wheres of all this. If someone could point me in the right direction I would be greatful.
