This is a hack that could be based on vbpad where you can store like 10 items of text now it would be cool if you could insert the text from any of those 10 when replying. This way if a newbie asks a question for the 1000th time you dont need to get angry just insert a standard reply.

Was that the same math you were working on today in class? I would ask for my money back if I was you. ;)

The screenshot looks good though? Can this be configurable to how many boxes you want?

Maybe. Right now it's semi-hard-coded to 5 (i.e., a variable is hardcoded to 5 but there's no setting to change it).

Nice :). How would we choose which numbered canned text we wanted to use? ... A variable in the post or something like that? :)

Can you make a setting in the admin CP for how many you want to allow? Maybe through the settings.php?

Example of how it'll work: you can click New Reply normally to any thread, and then clicking the JS links will add canned text to the textbox so you can edit it if you want and then submit the reply. Everything's working it seems, just have to do some tweaking and admin CP settings.

It adds a single query to newreply.

hey, that hack looks really good :)

turtle, i'd say you should use a dropdown instead of links, it's too much with 5 links, but if you want to allow ten it's really too much ^^

Was this hack ever released? We need something like this for our admin team as we get a lot of people asking for the same info time and time again.
