This hack adds a form right in the admin CP nav frame that allows you to type in a template name directly to edit it. See the screenshot for an example. Theoretically you can also add templates directly from the same form.
This should work on even ancient versions of vB2 but was developed only with 2.3.0 RC3.

Or a drop down of all the template names, then just select the one you want to edit. The ones that are more frequently edited remain at the top of the drop down. This current method is nice, if I can remember how to spell the template name that is ;)

I agree with the dropdown idea. All nice hacks have some improvements to be made, and that would make this hack so much better. Nice idea, however, Filburt.

I like this Hack. Very nice. It will help force me to remember template names when hacking.

Filburt, yes, it is true that if you know the names of the templates it is faster... but there will be some template I edit and I can't be bothered with remembering them all.. lol

Just a question Filburt... What about if there is myultiple styles taht have multiple template systems?
will it edit both sets?

The dropdown in the screenshot lists all the style sets so you edit the correct one.

the "Quick Edit Template:" is a link to the nav bar o_O.. Just change this linemakenavoption("Quick Edit Template:", "#", $output);to what you want. The second Option is the link. I changed it tomakenavoption("Quick Edit Template:", "template.php?action=modify", $output);so it directs you to the normal Template-Edit-Page. :)

This is a great little hack. What would I do if I wanted to default the drop-down template list to a certain template?

wow this is really cool, i install hacks for people and this is going to help me a lot. Thanks.
I was wondering, if any of you knew of a hack that will allow me to make a new template for multiple skins?
cuase i have 6 different skins, and when i have to make a new template i have to add one by one.
