Hack Request

Not sure if this has been done fully yet.

I have read these forums for the last 2 hours and I could only really find the contributor hack to be somewhat close to what I need. ( BTW - Great Hack .... I use it on a 7k+ member site )

This is what I am trying to do on another site....
I have a site that I want to figure a way to allow members to join and view/post in select forums free of charge. I would like to find a way to allow them to upgrade their account to premium status, allowing them to view/post in the premium only forums by subscribing. I want to find a way to allow them to subscribe and gain almost instant access without any manual group changes. Is this similar to your hack?

well, that is gonna depend on your payment processor.

but let's say you recieve a sign for your payment processor that he has paid, then it is possible to put a script after that, that re assigns the member to a different usergroup

Thanks... I am new to the vBulletin community. This vb3, that is the newest version coming soon, right? How soon is it coming.

Also, if anyone is in the know - What service for accepting payment is this going to support. I don't really care what Credit Card Processing company we use as long as I can allow them instant access without interaction of an adminstrator.

Vb3 is coming hopefully by the end of this month. But i cannot guarentee that. The subscriptions for a forum process will be processed by paypal :)
