Hello there,

I'm currently working on a translation of vbulletin into Japanese. I really need this for friends, members, and clients that I have in Japan. Basically I'll be making it bilingual.

I have quite a bit done on my dev site for EUC-JP charsets, but would like to do a Shift_JIS if possible. This however may not be possible with the current multi-byte problems that some servers have.

Anyway, I have tweaked my server to run Japanese just fine and the vbulletin translation is coming along nicely but still not finished yet.

Is there anyone out there also working on this? I'd love to exchange notes on how you are getting input/output to work with the Japanese mutibyte characters. I am from the States, but I live in Japan and can read/write Japanese if users out there can't write in English. Just send me an email in Japanese and I'll contact you.

Thanks,

Ricoche

Thank you for your time.

We are trying to get the search feature to support multi-byte characters (the current version does not).

Have you attempted to resolve this? I am looking for someone to help out.
