View Full Version : When I try to add a forum background it screws up...

I tried adding a background to appear on my forumhome, which if it worked I was going to later add it to all pages, but when I replaced the <body> tag with <body background="mybackground.gif"> it made my header image at the top of my forum home have a margin all the way around it, and anything that was using my <smallfont> tag went from its original color to a black color. Why do all these things change when they were working before?

As soon as I remove the background image code it all goes back to normal, so why does changing the background from a color to a image in my forumhome cause all these problems?

I also tried changing the body tag in the style and it didn't work. It should've worked, shouldn't it?

Can somebody help me out here? Who knew adding a background image would be so difficult. :(

Since I didn't want it looking crappy constantly I removed the background image, but I would like to re-add it once I figure out the problem. If you can help me out, I would really appreciate it.

Since I can't see the problem on your site, can you post a screenshot with the problem in place? Doesn't need to be implimented all the time.

OK try again leaving your bgcolor in there but adding the background tag in again. You may have deleted the text part of the body tag by accident when editing.

Let me know if this was the problem ;)

If that was his body tag then he'd have problems ^

Check you didn't delete the text part of the body tag while you changed it ;) - like i said
