Hi there,

I am Hacking a car Gallery for our Site www.calibra.de where you can build your car with many details and pictures.

In a few days I will start the Gallery official at our site.
If someone is interested in an english Version (some Guys on vb-germany.com are interested too, so i will release it) I try to translate the Hack into english. (The Admin-CP is in English).

Maybe some User have a vBulletin for Boards with Car-Discussion and may find ist useful.

It is completely Template-Driven and I inserted many settings into the Admin-CP.
A few features:

Data like Model, Engine, Color, etc.
Tunings at different Parts
Picture Upload on your Webspace with Thumbnailing.
a Public Gallery
Complet Administration in Admin-CP


Planned features:

Comments to the cars
Picture Categoryes for your car like: Accident or something else
vBPortal-Box with random Pic


Maybe it can be used fpr Motorbikes or boates.

You should not post up a hack in the database unless you have actually released it.

However this does sound quite impressive. Translation into english sounds good :)!

I run several Car websites, I specialize in creating websites for Car Clubs, and this is something I have been looking for.

My websites would benfit from this and I know my users would love it. Looks awesome!

There is already a hack, called vGallery that pretty much does the same thing already.

I Just took a look at that site, but my Gallery does much more like the vGallery.
You can Specify in several fields the details of your car. Like Engine, HP and many more. All is Editable in the Admin-CP.
I wanted to give the Users the possibility to present their car as detailed as they want. And all that in a good optical way. Even more than pictures.

The Thumbnails in the Preview are choosen randomly.

Hoffi, I'll say it again, I like what you are doing.

I have wanted to have a spot were members could upload a picture of their rides, and give info on make and model and engine.

I know my members have been bugging me for awhile. But finding someone to intergrate with vbulletin is to much hassle for me.

Looks good from what I see so far.

If you need a beta tester let me know, althought I failed German twice just to warn ya.

So my only question is, users can upload their own ride to this index then rigth ?

Yes, but the difference between vGallery and yours is that vGallery has actually been released :)

Is there a way to install a gallery without Image Magic?
I never had any luck with that. I use GD with mod_php4.
The server is FreeBSD 4.7 UNIX and Apache 1.3.27 mod_ssl
and MySQl 3.25.52.

@ajk: My Gallery works with GDLib Version 1 or 2. Even if the GIF-Support is not installed i have found a solution. (A dummy Thumb ;) )

If I am not mistaken, futureal posted in the Beta Hacks forum before he released vbProArcade. As long as it will be released in a matter of days, it shouldn't matter that much.

OK, the Install is ready. Give me a few days to build Standard Templates. In the moment the templates are not useful on a standard Forum.

Did anyone can help me with a translation from German?

I am just working on Templates that fit into every Site, and then I can release the German Version. corsacrazy will translate it into English, then I can release it in English.

It is be a Beta-Hack because all Admin-Functionality is not imcluded. But the important ones are. ;)

The faster you can release it, the faster I can decide whether or not I will choose to work on this hack.

I've been using Bergman's Car-Gallery hack, but it's level of integration within vBulletin has alot to be desired. I've already written about 15 hacks for it, and I was planning on releasing those to the public. However, once I get a chance to look at your hack, I'll be able to decide if this one is more worthwhile.

If you need help in the translation department, I can use babelfish as well as the next guy :)

Also Bewertungsfunktion ist - ebenso wie Kommentarfunktion - f?r V2 geplant. Aber erstmal ist ein Releasen angebracht.

Hi There.

Sorry that I was so quit a long time, but I had some personal Problems so I haven't enough time for this Project. But now it's going on.

We now decided (I now have a Co-Developer ;) ) to build the Gallery for vB3, so that we don't make many more changes for the actual Version. Maybe some Bug-Fixes.

If anyone of you is still interest to use this Beta-Version feel free to contact me via PN to discuss the Installation. I will help you to install and use it.
