How exactly do onlock and offlock pics work?

Hey, for some reason when I go to my forums as a guest, ALL of my forums are showing the "offlock" pic, even though some are enabled for guest viewing. Why is this? Is there a certain way I have to set up the permissions so it shows the "onlock" for forums that the guests can view? Thanks in advance. :)

In your control panel, you can tell it not to show the lock icon for forums where people can't post.

I have this to "Yes" and still no luck...

If there are no new posts in the forum does it only show offlock?

Sorry, I read your question wrong. I thought you wanted the locks off.
