Hey everyone I'm looking for a way to put a video gallery on my site. I'm not actually looking to host the videos as much as just link to them and have a special gallery style layout to make it easier to browse the films.

I want a way to make it so there is a special "newthread" for a certain forum is created where members are given a field for the URL to their hosted film along with a few other questions (film title, still photo upload, description, film length, genre, ect.) then all that information gets submitted into a new page with a cleaner layout then a typical post. The films also get categorized by their genre. When someone visits the cinema they find themselves in a directory organized by genre. When they get to a films page and click “watch film” the film pops up in a new window without any toolbars (i.e. javascript style)

Basically the way I see it is like this. The still image that gets submitted is nothing more then an attached file using the regular “attach file” option when you make a new post. So there is really only a few new text fields getting submitted to the database.

The pictures below will better explain what I’m looking for.

I’m willing to pay $75 for this hack. I could really use it. My members would like a cleaner layout like this.

Get a hold of me if you are interested and can pull this off.

Thanks

Basically I'm looking for something along the lines of what AlamDV.com (http://www.alamdv.com ) has set up for their cinema but for vbulletin.

Ok so what's it going to cost me to get this hack?

You can do something similar with Photopost, a commercial gallery that allows multimedia files - see it at www.photopost.com - it's a bit more expensive than $75, but does the job well. But you can integrate it into vB.

I've checked it out but I'm not sure if it does what I want it to do. I think it only lets you upload video and not redirect to a video online somewhere.

Plus I'm not sure I like the current layout of it or whether or not it's changeable.

Hey if you want to do it for free that's cool too. :) I'm just looking to get it made since it would really help my members and I'll do anything for my members.

Dude,

Im trying to do the same thing and found somthing really good if you havent already done so. i know that photopost.com does exactly what you want all you need to do is change MIMI types and do a little fiddling. it also intergrates with vBulletin really well via login and you can set each users space limits and enter custom text fields. try it, it costs a bit more that what you want but its realy worth it im setting mine up with in the next few weeks.
