I am trying to allow a member to write a good decent paragraph about themselves but they cant go over 250 words. How do i disable this part of VB and allow me to make it maybe 1000 or so?

Can anyone give me a hand?

you have to change the db structure from varchar(250) into mediumtext.

you have to go into fieldlist (i think that's what it's called) and edit the column

you find the fieldlist by editing a table with phpmyadmin

The thing is I have heard of that back when I started all this VB stuff, but now I forgot where I saw it or what it was. Is it a program that I download? Sorry to be a newbie with a stupid q but I know nothing of this "phpmyadmin" :ermm: I realy do recognize the name though :D lol but seriously, I know nothing about it. Any basic help would be appreciated. :) Thanks.

In your server control panel (contact your host for control panel details) - you should see a place for MySQL and inside of that a link for PhPMyAdmin.
