Hello,

Was considering making the switch from yabbse to vBulleting but am interested to know what kind of options are available for SEARCH NEW MESSAGES. I see this as being one of the most used functions on my existing site and want to make sure it works with vBulletin easily. The one that's on the .org site is kind of nice but is that a hack or something that's built in? Are there any other search new messages hacks that are better than this that I can look at somewhere?

Thanks!

the standard behaviour you can see here, what vb3 will have you should look onto vbulletin.com

and yes there can be extra features hacked in :)

vBulletin3's search feature is more or less finished.

Check it out at:

http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/search.php :)

___________

And the feature that shows the last 10 searches is a hack :)

Well, I guess I'm a little confused as to what the new search function in vb3 has to do with the "search for new messages" I'm looking for?

First off, from the looks of things vb3 isn't going to be out for a couple more months so I'm not going to get my hopes up.

As for what I can currently do with vb2? Well, here's what I would like to do.

The search for new messages on this site is OK but what I would really like is for the search results to display the first line of the message like my existing setup. I've attached a screenshot to better portray this.

Is there a mod like this for vb2?

well, AFAIK there is currently no mod for this, but it's possible :)
