it's not possible from pure vb, but a little script can do it, when you save the infos in cvs style :)

thanks for your answer!
our programmer tried already, but he is not able to do it.
one of the problems he tells me is that he doesn't have the passwords for the users so he cannot import.
also he has 3 tables from the old forum, and there are multiple tables in vbulletin.
I'm trying to sell this product to my customer, and we have a meeting where I need to say if we are able to import the data from the previous forum, in order to make the decision to go with vbulletin.
thanks, for your help,

well without the exact knowledge of the old structure i can't say it for sure.

the passwords have to be saved in some way, aren't they?
if not, you can always just reset them, so users have to use the forgot pw function...

I just can say it should be possible for let's say 95%, but without the exact structure i can't say 100%.
If your programmer can't do it, maybe you ahve to hire someone for this issue...

sorry, I didn't realize abput the other thread.

that's what I would like to do, have somebody familiar with the program in order to solve this issue.
I don't have anybody that can give me a quote, how can I hire somebody that can help us with this project?

Well, you should start a thread, posting in the title you want to hire someone for importing Excel into a vb DB.

Nevertheless you must already have purchased vb then, so you should clear the things with your hireling exactly before you buy it ;)

You need to be patient and wait to allow people to see your post and respond. Not everyone is one this board 24 hours a day. ;)

sorry, I was just trying to find out, with your experience, if this is something that can be done. in another words, if it's something usual.
it's the first time I'm in this forum,
