vbPortal has been around for a bit now, my original intent when developing vbPortal was to combine vBulletin with some other things that I wanted to use on my own website, not become a portal developer, not being a php programer it's taken me a while to get vbPortal off the ground to a point where I had something to build my future web site.

I've finally realized my goal and started my new website http://www.seniorfiles.org it's a long way from becoming a productive site, but it's a step in the right direction for me. Please fell free to visit and let me know what you think. :)

I don't know if this is a double post or spam because I posted it at vBulletin.com, if so feel free to delete. It's not intended in that fashion.

Old color blind people like me need bright colors :D It's the ravio design by vBskins.com, there will be numerous theme options within the next few weeks. My own design's as well as some theirs or any other pleasing to me old eye ;)

I wasn't posting purly for commenting on the site, but feel free to move it. LOL, seems you already did...

I'm interested in seeing how this one goes :)

You said you want to finally go your own way - then use no-one elses work ;)

Do everything from scratch and even if you do use vbskins' design then make sure your's is default so people can see what you can do ;)

I meant my own site besides phpPortals which is mine, I created vbPortal, but most will tell you, I'm not very good at graphics, but I've created a few, such as my tabmenu theme at phpPortals. I just like the ravio theme and want to throw a little support to their vbulletin designs, we at phpportals do the vbPortal template end, so you could say it was a joint effort.

Not bad, but isn't that a bought skin? If it is, I suggest you do your own design. It will always benefit you if your work in 100% original to the site. :)

You haven't read the past posts apparently :) It's a skin from vbskins that I have decided to use, they did the vBulletin part, I did the vbPortal part, sort of a informal cooperation. We convert their skins to work with vbPortal for them and they get to distribute them. Beside's the site is being designed to suit the non-vbulletin hacker community, it's just an ol' folks home guy's.... We will have lot's of styles/themes niffty things in the future, I happen to like this style, I have more than enough of my own, if you have ever visited my developement site, but me like this one...

If everyone here went 100% on their own where would we be, I say support the troops, use the hacks, use the styles (if you use them) give the deveopers the credit they deserve, I say hats off to everyone that helped me... Formost vBulletin, where would you be, if you had to be 100% original and couldn't use vbulletin :) or their templates, I like it, I use it.
