Pluhnews and HTML

First off can Pluhnews be used on a site that the messageboard is not located on? If so how?

Second I have just a regular HTML page I designed. I realize I have to give it a .php extension but besides that what else do I need to do to make it work? Is there any other php code I need to put in?
