View Full Version : Cookies Problem !!

11-20-2000, 04:22 PM
Hello,

Some of my members who are setting the "store username and password" to OFF are having problems with editing their posts !!
Even though they can post, but when editting the post it ask them to log in first !

They also can't add any new votes !!

All other members with "store username and password" to ON,they aren't facing this problem !!

Also in the Private Messaging, some members are receiving other members messages !!
I am realy concern about this,as its insecure to view other people messages !!

Is this a bug in VB or is there something I can change to fix this problem??

Thanx for any help

Part of your problem was right in your question. Obviously, if the user doesn't store their UN/PW. they will be prompted for it whenever they try to do anything that requires logging in. That is a direct result of not storing your UN/PW. That's why the users that do store them aren't having any problems.

My question is, why is this in the hacking forum?

JimF,

Sorry not to be more specific, but the problem is those members still cant edit, because the message keep asking them to log in over and over !!

My question is, why is this in the hacking forum?

Install the new poll hack.
I don't know what causes that in the PM hack - I think it's the user's cookie.

Ed Sullivan,

If this is happens to 1-3 users it could be the user's cookie problem, but they are a lot more than that !!

It could be solved if I ask those members to turn the "Store username and pass" to On,but I think its ridiculous to do so !!
