I just purchased 2.2.9 so should I wait until 3.0 is available and not mess with it??

It's quicker for the poster, if he sees something that catches his eye, I believe he would much rather go there, than open the page and see nothing that interests him or her, infopop has been doing this for a long time I reckon its all in what you are used to.

Subject lines draw interest and if they are visible from the forum index it just makes it nicer and faster for your guests, IMHO.
