huh?
sorry, i don't understand what you want.
you mean if no mod is entered, then show the Admins name?
If yes, just enter the Admin as mod of the Forum..

I think what he/she means is like a user group as the moderator of the forum..
say you make a user group called "semi admins" then you put who ever you want in user group "semi admin" and assign "semi admin" group to the forum they are allowed to moderate.
that is good so if you want 10 moderator for a forum you do not have to add them one by one, rather add the group to the forum and anyone within that group can moderate that forum...
if I understand him/her right, then this is not yet possible with vb2+ I think it will be possible for vb3 to add user groups to forums.

Sebastian:
Hmm, i remeber this behaviour was used by vb1 :)
Ok, just usergroups in the old times ;)
But i think you're right, think this would be possible with vb3 then (not 100% sure)

well, with vb1 you could just set whole usergroups as Mods for a forum, or if you wanted a single user, then a new usergroup was generated (Autogenerated Moderator Group was it called ;))
But yes, it was usefull sometimes, sometimes not ;)
