Hey there,

In case you didn't know: If you have an AIM (American Online Instant Messanger) username, you can open a 24/7 open chat room for your AIM name and integrate it to your site in 2 minutes.

AIM allows you to have a free chatroom for your username and anybody can join this room even if you are not online.

Actually if you have an AIM account, you have this chat room without doing anything: Just link
aim:gochat?roomname=YOUR_AIM_NAME+Chat in your site and your users can join the chat room by clicking it if they also have AIM.

But if you want to have a full HTML code, follow this link (http://www.aim.com/remote/main.adp?aolperm=)

If you want only vb members to join your chatroom, well AIM does not provide you with such a solution but I'm sure you can use methods like giving the chatroom entrance in a member only page etc. :)

Also needless to say chatters should have AIM to join the chat room. So it's not perfect but still a very good free solution which is better than nothing.. :)

I didn't test it myself with a non-screenname and their default usage is opening the door with your own screenname.

But I believe it would be possible to host the name with any name anyway. However regard the possibility that your chosen name can be a screenname of another user which will result in having a shared chat room. :D

Seeing as aim:gochat?roomname=YOUR_AIM_NAME+Chat
Its the variable roomname that defines the name, so I am guessing you can put
roomname=Lesbian Chat *which alread exisits*

Instead of my name. Also Logicien, you wouldn't know of any AIM Bots that you can put into rooms would you?

So you are trying to send your users to an existing room which does not belong to you? Yes it will work. Just one thing: room name does not include space.

I don't use any of them myself but these can be a good start:

Just an fyi ... instead of spaces, you need to use a + sign.

So in the example given, it would be lesbian+chat.
