okay, i admit, while i know my vb hacking i can't say the same for making a style.

I have bought a style in the past, but decided to do my own.

1st. what do i start with, do i start modifying the default vb style?

2nd. say i want to use some parts from a phpbb style is that a pain? like porting over a style?

3rd. any suggestions on how to start?

thanks :)

Well the official phpbb style is available over at www.vbulletintemplates.com :P

If you want to make a style then firstly just play around ... get to grips with which templates use what...

You need to know how to do graphics obviously so you make your header image etc..

I'd be more than happy to help you along the way as you go along trying to make your style... so any problems you encounter just reply here and i'll help you out :p (providing its not too difficult) hehe

There not bad... i'd change the font to a pixel font or something more modern tho... :p

That arrow is very similar if not taken from a set i've seen over at vbskins.com...

Well i'd try using a font called Matchworks (which is a pixel font)..... to give it a try... also lower the opacity of the shadow and don't make it span out as much...

the arrow actually came from an ekko skin i bought using the psd's. nothing more than 2 dots and a triangle on it's side. I redesigned my site so i no longer use ekko skin, since the colors do not match. I also have emerge skin, but it's too dark.

i will try those fonts.

thanks.

Lol ok sure... but i still don't think - even if you have purchased the ekko skin - you'd be able to use that tiny portion of the image..

It's best to be original d00d... no point in taking chunks of other people's work ya kno :P

Have a go at a brand new set and then post a sample up and i'll give you some tips etc
