View Full Version : Two Requests - Point System with a Difference, And Registration with a Difference.

Heya.

Right, well this is a massive request, but I'm very sure some genius out there can take up the Gauntlet and do a great job.

The first request is a point system, however, I'd want it so mods/admins can add/subtract points, and as well if someone tried to enter a restricted forum (that was visible to them) they would get minused 5 points automaticly.
Also, when their points get to -50, they are sent to a specific usergroup, which only has access to one forum, and has the rest invisible, for a certain amount of time, after which they are sent back to their default usergroup (there will be 4 usergroups for members so this is important).

My second request is to do with the aformentioned 4 usergroups.

Basicly I want that when you register, there will be a final step with a "Quiz" with multiple choice questions (4 per question) -- depending on what to user answered to the quiz they would be sorted into a specific usergroup.

-- And finnally, this is in adition to the points hack, I would need a new page, (or stats template I could work into another one, maybe Forumhome template) where it has the 4 seperate usergroups and what points they all have.

Maybe this is unclear however, I will explain why I need these hacks.

I am opening a Harry Potter forum, which I guess might be a little taboo with such mature folk, but anyway, anyone familiar with Harry Potter will know there are four types of groups in the books, each having their own character traits. When a member has joined I want to sort them into one of these usergroups, the way I thought of was with the Quiz, which would hopefully pick the group best for the user, (I would let them pick, however I would fear too many would go for one specific group).

The point system, again for those familiar with Harry Potter would know, is like a competition which happens every year, members of the groups get points for being good, or deducted points for doing wrong, at the end of the year the house with most points wins. -- I want to kind of incorperate this into my forum.

So if anyone thinks they are up to it, and would like to help this poor wandering soul, please do so, I will be forever in your debt.

Thank You.

Sounds like a very cool idea;)

I like Harry Potter (I'm re-reading the 4 books over and over until the 5th comes out), and I am going to go and see the Second Movie sometime soon:)

I'm guessing that the usergroups are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin?:)

I am sure I could possibly help out with some of it;)

Hem, hem...

Did anyone actually managed to make this? I would love to have this hack if possible, I'm willing to pay as well if necessary. Just the houses hack, to be precise, where new members would have to fill some kind of questionnaire as the last part of their registration and depending on their answers, they will be sorted into different houses (or usergroups, which comes to be the same thing, basically).

Thanks in advance.

Me too! Please release your hack, hellsatan!
Since I run a German Harry Potter Board ( http://www.hogwarts-forum.de ) I would be very glad, if you share it with us. :)
