Would anyone be interested in me releaseing a hack which does this:

For who's online in forumdisplay, forumhome, online.php, each usergroup will have a colour for the users' usernames. You will be able to specify the colour from the adminCP. It will be done via styleset page, so each style can have different colours!

It will add no extra queries.

It will add a legend on forumhome, online.php and forumdisplay.

I could also create an addon where it will keep the colours for the postbit, memberlist, and forumdisplay (where it says who started the thread).

If you are unsure what this does, please reply here...

Anyone interested in a megahack like this?

getinfo...well, I don't really know about get info as on default standard vB, the username is on categorybackcolor so it could clash...so I won't do get info...unless I have to that is.

showthread.php, I mentioned that, I said I can make it for the postbit ;)

Even if I do make this hack, it will be released in january, as I'm going on holiday in a week, and until then I'm v. busy.

Good to hear, but a lot of people will want a lot of vB3's features on vB2 :)

I for one will want the quote with quick reply to work with vB2, among many other things, such as subforums on forumhome with minimal queries ;)
