Now I'm just missing how to translate the name of the months and the "th" besides the DATE (already modified the th,rd on the positions).

SInce I guess it's the system Date, how could I modify this?

And oh yes, I use the Today/Yesterday hack... is it possible to use this on the Arcade?

I installed the hack but that's an odd thing. Some users told me that in battle they do always 5 hit damage.
They are at level 1 and fight with fists.
3 battles always with 5 hit each one.

Why? there's a way to modify it?
i modifyed the .15 in the battleupdate.php but nothing happened.

Well what I want it to do is, when you pick a race, you have certain class types, with certain classes.
So each race has its own class types/ classes.

And bitsys your aim is messing with me your always afk! lol.
Anyways I have gotten emails about making more battle scenes.
If you like my battle scenes (the ones in the hack) PM me if you want more. I have about 50 unreleased.

Fist damage is based on the user's level. Once they level up a few times they should be doing more damage and it should be more random.

My character was 12,000 hp when we first made the rpg, and a few days ago he dropped to 7,000. Most other members that our like 20 levels below have like more hp than me, I didn't edit my account or anything, and I dont know whats wrong.

Since HP is based on posts per day and the amount of time you have been with the forums, it is possible that your HP went down because you posted less, or the other members have a much higher post per day count. Can you verify this?

Yep. And when I did vbhacker, it didn't require any manual changes... maybe it is because I'm using 2.2.6? If I used 2.3.0 instead, would it work?

Hmmm the people in this case didn't have any armour...

one with buff 2 the other with buff 0...

Any suggestion about how to put buffs on items and, the average number to give HP in Elements?

wow, buffs have to be HUGE becausebuff is about the amount of damage the weapon will be doing....2 just leaves it at such a horribly low amount O.o unless you plan to have like 100x hp or something

Another question (sorry but i'm n00b in this hack):
i read in the faq, a user can have a guild, having a own alignment with 5 classes.
Can the user do it by himself, or the Admin have to do it by Admin CP?

Ok there's alot of stuff there to pick through so I figure it'd just be easier to ask my questions and see if they were answered already (though I'm sure they weren't..)

1. I would like to maintain my use of Lesane's Store Hack, however at this time it does not allow me to use the bank feature. Is there a way to make it work?

If not, would it be possible just to install the bank hack, and then the bank to store integration for Lesane's?

2. When you are in usercp and you select your gender & alignment, you must submit that information before the ability to choose a race comes up, etc. Is there a way to make those combo boxes auto-fill upon choosing without having to submit and reload?

3. I would really like to be able to make it possible for users to not change their characters once they have been created (unless maybe purchasing the ability to do so at Lesane's Store). Is there a way to block a character from being eligable for battle or from buying items until the forum user clicks on 'Finalize Character' and it locks it from being edited?

4. Is there a way you could adapt this so an admin may edit characters through the admin cp?

Also, many thanks for your time and effort, this is a great hack and has given my forum users so much more to do!!!

This was for versions 2.2.6, 2.2.7, 2.2.8, and 2.2.9 mainly so there are probably a few bugs with version 2.3.0.

I didn't find a way to combine the two in the postbit section, simply because the $post query was far too complicated to mess with.

Just like to mention there are a few bugs with the following:

1. Putting no password in battles results in invalid password display.

2. Having the 'unknown' class allows users to open up the items via the unknown and purchase them whether they have permission to or not (i removed that field from my dbase for now).

3. The healer sometimes shows a bad value, such as intead of 18 it will show 8, then the user wonders why they can't heal because they have 10 gold.

Just an update on my removal of the unknown field from the rpg_types table.

If you do this to prevent users from buying items they shouldn't, then you are left with all of the categories upon first going to the itemshop, however they can't be expanded.

This looks messy... so I fixed it.

Simply open itemshop.php

Find (right at the end of the file):

Do you have phpmyadmin? If so, do the following:

Go to your forums database. Find the rpg_type, rpg_race, rpg_classf, and rpg_classm tables. Click "Browse" on each of these. Verfiy that there is dat in these tables. If there isn't any data, then clicking "Browse" will return an empty set.

Generally, Buffs should be between 10 and 1000. HP on elements should be between 30 and 100.

Please try the following:

ADmin CP -> Edit Items. Find the "[Edit]" link next to a category name (the one for spells). Click the link. On the next menu, select "Spells" as the battle type and save changes. Back at the Edit Items screen, make sure that you have given the spell a buff value and an MA cost. Additionally, either the "Attack" or "Heal" checkbox (or both) must be checked.

Personal shops allow a little more user interaction. The items they add are novelty items only. Allowing users to assign buff values for items would jeapardize the integrity and balance of battles.

I made an addon that is really close to this... it locks a user's RPG stats when they reach a certain level. I have mine set to level 5, that way my members can examine all characters, but once they get to level 5 they have to make a permanant decision because it locks and users can't change stats anymore.

I thought this:

Allow users to put buff in items... but... with a certain range, and with a cost. I think we can put also an image library for the user items.

Example: in the add item shop, put a select box with buff
+10 +20 +30 +100 +1000 ecc.
Another box with Att, Def, Att+Def

if someone choose a buff in another window will display the price.

if i made an armour with +10 in Att. i'll pay 1000
if it's +50 i'll pay 5000
if it's +50 Add+Def i'll pay 10000
If i make 2 of this i'll pay 20000

This will influence also the sell price, so nobody can make a +1000 item sold for 20 gil.


i'm not a php programmer (but i want to study for it), so someone think it's possible and easy to do?

I believe it is usually the one before heal full or heal full... I can't be 100% sure, as I've only seen it happen a couple of times. However picking a different one always solves the problem. It's never more than 1 at a time.

Delete the unknown class, race, type. But there really isn't anything else you can do, maybe edit it so that other than unknown stuff appears when somebody first registers you could edit somestuff to make it so that a certain other race, class, type appears for every users stats appear the same when they register.

Um, normally field5 or field6 is the point field, are you using store points or itemshop points? Go into the admin cp and see what is in field6.

2)What problems with healing, and what do you mean by bank stealing, if they use a script from a different website of from localhost I can give you a script that will make it so you cannot enter your bank unless you came from another part of your forum.

It's in "Custom Profile Fields" in your admin cp, where you see the edit button right-click and click "copy shortcut" and paste it in your address bar and at the edit you should get something like this: admin/profilefield.php?action=edit&profilefieldid=3 That is the field.

In my opinion (but i'm not a php programmer and i can say stupid things) if(sizeof($userr)!=16 can be ereased.

What do you think? Am i wrong?

Hmmm..... That is happening to another person named Kaotic, you might want to talk to him about the bank. I really can't help you must with the heal.php, you might what to download the rpg hack again and then re-upload a new copy of heal.php.

Ok, I ran into my first problem installing this on a new board (2.3.0). For some reasen when a user buys there items, they will show up in the shop on the top table where all the items you have are listed, and do work in battle, but will not show up in the postbit, the profile or any other place that the items are suppost to show up in.

Anyone have any idea? Its like the Var to show items is not working.

Itemshop money is stored in the userfield table. This table contains dynamic fields to store different values. The name of the field that stores Itemshop money is the same as the value you put for "Points field" in the Itemshop Options Menu.

9. In the top option put in field# and replace number with the number you recorded in step 7.

If that doesn't work, then try:
1. Go to your admin panel

Delete the unknown class, race, type. But there really isn't anything else you can do, maybe edit it so that other than unknown stuff appears when somebody first registers you could edit somestuff to make it so that a certain other race, class, type appears for every users stats appear the same when they register.

I wouldn't recommend deleting the Unknowns, since that would have an unknown effect on the hack. I do agree that there is not much to do to solve the problem right now.

I would recommend decreasing defense, since the lowest chance to hit a player can have is 40%.

Also, what prevents a user from creating a personal itemshop, then just buying items from his own store and giving himself money?

The money is taken out of his account, then put back in. I don't see a net gain, or am I missing something? If you were referring to the negative cost for personal itemshop items exploit, then that will be fixed in the next version.

You are correct, the sizeof() function call is not really necessary. I did not write that code - it was a part of the original itemshop.

100% AP is only supposed to do 1.5x damage. How much extra damage is it doing for you?

Gaining experience through posting can be turned off. That way, not matter how much a user posts, they only get experience in battle.

Ok, some users have done up to 30,000 damage when they reached 100% AP. The highest user on the board has only 8,000 HP. I hope btw, that thing you gave for seint_saiya works because this guys has 1000 posts less than me and has 1000 more posts than me. Anyways, how can I change this? Is it in battleupdate.php?

Here is my first try to modify a hack.

I tested a lot, and i think it works.

In the txt you find all the instructions.

What this do?

The original personal shop, allows to have an item the don't do nothing in battle. With this hack, you can build items with bonus in battle (the bonus is in the attack now).

to prevent a user make an item with bonus 9999 selling it at 1 gil, the hack put a cost on the item.
a user spent X gil for 1 point of bonus (the x, is now 10 gil, but it can be modifyed in the admin CP in itemshop options)

to prevent a lvl 1 user, use an item with bonus +1000, the hack set a level for the item (level to use= bonus damage/X) where X is set by the admin by admin CP. Now i set this to 100.


I hope this help you to make more fun your rpg :D

If you deleted hpmulti from the equation, then your HP is no longer based on posts per day. However, it won't go back to the way it was because you most likely were getting a bonus from the post per day variable (hpmulti). Once everyone updates their stats, then you will probably see their HP go down as well.

Basically, when a user creates a Battle it sends that PM. The opposing user clicks on the link however the screen says "Invalid Password". No password is stored in the database. I know that because on the PM it has a blank space where the password should be. My AIM is GuitarBro05 if you need any more information. You could of course use this thread...it's up to you. But I love the idea of your hack (perfect for this RPG tournament we're planning). I really hope you can help.

What is the structure of your items_user table?

In battlefight.php, are you able to find the following:
$itemcats = $DB_site->query("SELECT id, battletype FROM items_cats WHERE type = 0 ORDER BY battletype");

Have you added any personal item shops recently?

I am pretty sure there is nothing you did wrong. I think this is a bug from the last version that I have fixed on my version but I haven't released yet. To test this theory, try the following:

In battlefight.php, find:

$itemcats = $DB_site->query("SELECT id, battletype FROM items_cats ORDER BY battletype");

and CHANGE it to:

$itemcats = $DB_site->query("SELECT id, battletype FROM items_cats WHERE type = 0 ORDER BY battletype");

If that does not work then it may be something else that I am not aware of.

Version 0.68 is done. Check the first post for the new .zip file. Upgrade instructions are included in the upgrade directory.

This is a mainly bug fix version.

Bugs Fixed:

Fixed mysql error in battleupdate.php when personal itemshop IDs were greater than non-personal IDs and the user had a personal item.
Removed hard-coded references to the word "Gil" from battle.php. There is now a "$" in its place.
Fixed personal itemshop money exploit involving negative cost for items.
Fixed class bug in itemshop.php that allowed certain class IDs to buy items meant for other classes.


Major Changes:

All code in battleupdate.php has been re-written.
All code in battle.php and heal.php that deals with money will now use the user's cash instead of his/her bank account. This should alleviate the appearence of disappearing bank money and help track down any existing bugs.


The working shields add-on has been included in this version of the hack. You do not need to re-install it after upgrading.

The uninstaller for the previous version should work for this version as well.

This version will probably be buggy, since I have not had adequate time to test it, so as always, if you find any bugs or errors, let me know :)

hmm just installed this hack and it seems to be working but im having a issue cuz i see 2 places for the options that you set for the rpg when you go to your user control panel and edit options. is this supposed to be like this or did i mess something up? any help will be greatly appreciated.

Because he take damage bonus item from your opponent and not our item.

i have do a test, a friend with damage item and me with nothing.
i got all damage bonus item from my friend, and my friend get 0 damage bonus.

i think it's a bug.

That is not currently possible because there is no easy way to tell if a user is a super moderator. It is much easier to tell if they are a moderator or above.

I was thinking of making it similiar to uploading a costum avatar, so that a user can upload a custom sprite. Sorry if I don't make sense, I'm totally sleepy and I'm doing this at the last minute. hmm i just had a battle with one of my members and when we both went to heal it told us that we didnt have any gold but we do have alot of gold. also it seems all of the items have disapeared from the item shop. Allowing the items from personal shops to work has the problem of unbalancing the admin created items. The only way to fix this would be to have a moderation que ue in the admincp. However, such an addon is a little out of the scope of the direction of this hack.

this error has been addressed before it's easy to fix ..

got your admin cp, go to "User Profile Fields"

look for
Points No Yes No 250 25 [edit] [remove]

run mouse over edit, make a note of what field number it says, default is field 5 normally.

goto your Itemshop section, Edit Options,

read where it says, Point Field

change the field info to the id that you saw when you hovered your mouse over the "Points No Yes No 250 25 [edit] [remove]" edit button.

you might have it like field6 or something so you would just change it to that, and your error will be fixed ;)

I thought it through myself, but I'm not exactly sure how to set up an error page when a user tries to spend more points than the set number.

Also, has anyone else had a problem inactive battles not expiring after 24 hours?

Go to the Edit Items menu in the admin cp. Find the item category that has an ID of 5. Is it a personal itemshop? Also, what is the name of the category and how was it added?

That would be a little hard to implement in the current system, since those stats are generated on the fly and aren't stored in the database anywhere.

Inactive battles aren't supposed to automatically expire. They will only be removed when you run the Pruning script and they have been inactive for the specified amount of time.

I think the fix for this is to replace all references of $key in battle.php with $key1.

That is correct. When you are challenged and you decline, then you do not have to pay the wager.

There isn't an automatic way of doing this. However, you can do it by running a query. I believe it would be:

UPDATE user SET ap = 0

That query would set the AP to 0 for everyone.

Make sure you update your stats. After that, run DB Fix. If neither of those work, then let me know.

In newthread.php and newreply.php, find:

$DB_site->query("UPDATE user SET xp=xp+$battleopt[expperpost] WHERE userid='$bbuserinfo[userid]'");

That is the query used to give the user experience. To determine the length of the message and store it in a variable, use the following code:

$messagelength = strlen($message);

You could change the query to something like:

$DB_site->query("UPDATE user SET xp=xp+" . intval($battleopt['expperpost'] * strlen($message) / 100) . " WHERE userid='$bbuserinfo[userid]'");

This would give the user the full amount of exp per post if the message was exactly 100 characters. If the message was 200 characters, then the user would get twice the amount of normal xp per post, etc.

You could always put a cap on the amount of exp people get could get so that people didn't make a post that contained the same characers over and over again.

Please note that I have not tested any of the above code.

Anger is still based on a user's level. To restrict anger damage, do the following:

In battleupdate.php, find:
$debugvariables .= "Anger (\$anger): $anger\n";
and ABOVE it, add:
if ($anger > XX)
{
$anger = XX;
}

Where XX is a number greater than 1. If XX is 3.0, then the user will do a maximum of 3 times as much damage.

What is the buff for the shield? Are you both using the same shield? How does it not work?

Did you set the Battle Type of your Item Category for your shield to "Shields". Is the other admin's shield in the same item category as yours?

Did you re-run the install file? It looks like you have getlevel() in there twice. To fix it, do the following:

3. Find the RPG Name profile field
4. Right click over the edit link and go to copy shortcut
6. Copy it in your browser
7. Near the end there will be a number. Remember that number
8. Go to edit the battle options
9. In the top option put in field# and replace number with the number you recorded in step 7.

If that doesn't work, then try:

Ok, I guess it wasn't the different versions of Vb software. I got the same problems. You see, in forum display, the links show up. I click on the links (to the thread) and the postbits don't show up. Now go back to the forum display, I click on the little icon that goes to the last post. The post bit does show up BUT only the last post. Now in the post bit it puts me up as guest.

Any ideas?

Having a little problem with donation when viewing the profile.


The popup works fine, it's just when i click donate, don't matter if it's Anonymous Donation or not, i get that error..

In the 'rpgcp' template, find:
$post[userid]
and chage it to:
$userid

It's much too long to send by PM..

In heal.php, battle.php, battlefight.php, and itemshop.php, find something like:
If ($bbuserinfo[userid] != 0 && $bbuserinfo[usergroupid] != 3 && $bbuserinfo[usergroupid] != 4 && $bbuserinfo[usergroupid] != 1){

All you have to do is add:
&& $bbuserinfo[usergroupid] != X
with X being the usergroup ID.

See if you are experiencing one of the following symptoms:

All of my users are being labeled as "Guest" in the postbit template.
No posts are showing up.
None of the RPG variables will display in the postbit. The element/gender/class images are broken.
I get database errors when I go to showthread.php


If you are experiencing one or more of the above problems, then your showthread.php file was not edited correctly by the installer. This problem usually occurs on boards with other hacks installed that modify the queries in showthread.php. Please do the following:

In showthread.php, find the following code 2 times:
attachment.attachmentid,attachment.filename,attach ment.visible AS attachmentvisible,attachment.counter
and AFTER it, add the following (ONLY IF IT IS NOT THERE ALREADY):
,
user.ma AS uma,user.hp AS uhp,user.pp AS upp,user.ap AS uap,items_options.pointfield,items_options.lesanes tore,battle_options.namefield,battle_options.expra te,battle_options.privacy AS battleprivacy,items_user.*,battle_stats.*,rpg_race .name AS rpgracename,rpg_race.alignment AS rpgalignmentname,rpg_classf.name AS fclassname,

LEFT JOIN battle_stats ON battle_stats.userid=user.userid
LEFT JOIN rpg_classf ON rpg_classf.id=user.rpgclass
LEFT JOIN rpg_classm ON rpg_classm.id=user.rpgclass
LEFT JOIN rpg_element ON rpg_element.elementid=user.element
LEFT JOIN rpg_race ON rpg_race.raceid=user.rpgrace AND rpg_race.alignmentid=user.alignment

Do not forget to do ALL of the above edits 2 times!

After doing all of this, run DB Fix.

If all of the code is there, then you may have a different problem. However, doing the above edits will rectify problems in 95% of the cases.

So you tried doing the file edits to showthread.php and it didn't work? Were the file edits there or not?

Have you tried running DB Fix?

Are you sure you did all of the edits both times?

Did you try running DB Fix?

This isn't a problem with member.php since it doesn't control which usergroup you are in.

EDIT: Found something. Sigs won't show up. The tag for sigs is in the template, I have sigs active from Admin CP, I have sigs active in my userCP options. Should I send you the showthread.php file? I have the lesane store hack installed.

One. Entering an RPG Battle. When I try to, no matter what, having the right password or not, I get "Invalid Password or Battle Name" or something like that. But then I noticed, looking at the PM:

Notice there is no password. There is suppose to be one, right?

We had the same problem at my boards a while ago, but we figured out how it was done:

The user deposit all his/her gil in the bank, then withdraws all his/her gil. The result should be that the users bank deposit is "0", but there was a bug.. The bug redeposited the same amount as the user withdrew, dubling the gil he/she has..

If anyone does any bank activity it resets the 24 hour thing. If you add/withdraw anything from the bank that resets the 24 hour period.

But why did only some of the members get interest in the bank, and not all?
I got, but another admin that has been away on vacation for a week didn't get any.

You can foget about the Sig problem. Somehow that was fixed. I think my co-admin had something to do with it. *shrugs* In any case, I still have that "Invalid Password" problem even though he actually did put a password.

I get several problems when I installed the hack I've listed them and really need some help!

#1: The RPG fields appear in the required information AND the optional information. How do I fix that?

#2: When a user posts a topic their post doesnt appear, and when someone replys to the topic it over-writes the post above. So basically every topic has 1 post. This is seriously wierd and I need help!

#3: The postbit doesn't update and the images don't have names when it trys to load them (it comes up as images/classes/mclasses/.gif)

#4: The postbit also displays the points as 0 for every user even if they have 2000. Basically the postbit is really screwed.

I'm sure theirs more errors, I followed the install instructions prefectly. Can someone please help? Or even if I reset it install it for me?

It works perfecty on 2.3.0, atleast for me.

I removed all the stats from my postbit, the only thing i've got there is: Gender, a link to the Rpg Stats and Donate..
Mainly did it coz my postbit was huge, but in the prosess i got a very nice postbit, imho, witch isn't to big.. :)

Are you sure that DB Fix solves the problem? You should only have to run DB Fix when users are added in the admincp manually.

Potions must hace a buff assigned to them and must either heal MA or HP. If you haven't checked either of those checkboxes, then they will do nothing.

Find the userid of a user who doesn't get interest. Go to phpmyadmin. Browse the items_user table. Locate the row containing the information for the userid you recorded earlier. What is the value of the btime column?

7. Near the end there will be a number. Remember that number

Could you describe exactly what actions you are taking? What does the script do that it isn't supposed to do? Do you have a screenshot of any errors that it is giving you?

ok.......here's the situation, i kinda screwed up w/ the experience stuff -_-; (my fault)
but after i though about it i wanted to reset everything so that everyone will be equal.

After i pick the option to reset the experience and click on the Reset button, the page would just go blank and stays like that =(
no error or nothing either =/

In the reset you have to check the first button to make the modfy work. Did you checked it?
