How do I move the "Post Reply" button?

I posted this at vbulletin.com and no one could answer this without error messages:

Could someone here help me with this and maybe explain why this doesn't seem to work?

How do I get the "Post Reply" button to work properly if it's placed somewhere other than the standard location in the default template? I've moved it, but can't get it to function properly like the other thread buttons (they work fine moved around).

"Post Reply" works fine for me at the default top and bottom locations, but does not work anywhere else. I've even taken it out of the top and bottom to see if maybe there was some sort of conflict going on--but that didn't work either.

I'm baffled.

Anyone know why or how I can get it to work?

is it still in the showthread template? because if it's in, for example, the postbit template, i would not expect it to work since the postbit is generated by a function
