View Full Version : Announcement Improvement
I just realised today that announcement.php just outputs an error if forumid is not specified. Well, why not have a list of announcements instead of that error? You can view a demo of it here: http://forums.ffdiscovery.com/announcement.php . If there are no announcements, users get the same old "invalid forum specified" error. I was too lazy to add a new template. ;)
Installation is very easy. There are two file modifications for announcement.php and two new templates. Don't forget to tell me if you like it, and what you would like added/improved. Assistance can be given through my forums or through e-mail. (:p It's the third time i've said that today)

You know, we have something of a custom here whereby authors provide screenshots of their hacks. It makes it much easier for the rest of us to figure out just what it is your hack does rather than being referred to a demo site which requires us to register as a user just to see it in action.
Please start including screenshots in your posts. All of the hacks you've posted recently lack this feature. If you're too lazy to provide them, most of us will be too lazy to even consider installing your stuff.
Thanks. :)

hmm in my eyes, a hacker can do whatever they want to do with their hack...if he wants to post a SS or a working demo, thats his pro...
lookin @ your profile, it appears your not a hacker yourself, so why put down 1 for takin his time to make 1 for us? cuz he doesnt post a SS...
I would ask for a admin to remove post#2 from this thread.
P.S.
good job on the hack rake.

My profile reads similar to yours, bubba... so simmer down. :tired:
I wouldn't have posted a link to my forum if it would have required you to register. Attachments CAN be viewed by guests. Here is your screenshot.

Actually that is incorrect Rake. Anyone who IS NOT a licensed vBulletin holder can not view any hacks, download them, or post in certain forums here at vBulletin.org
I've been drinking too much sprite lately. I meant announcements. Announcements can be viewed by guests.

The first link stated in the post does not work, but I think that if you want an example, you will have to click on the screenshot that is attached in Post #5.
I think that this is a good hack, I will attempt installing it momenterially.
