Hey all, I would like some comments on my board over at SpeedStreet. I've been working on it since July or so, and we have some pretty decent traffic for only being word of mouth.

I took some design cues from a multitude of other stock designs as well as adding my own flavor to it. Right now, I would venture to say I have about 20 hacks from here, and about thirty of my own.

SS is an online car community dedicated to bringing all the major and minor communities together as one. We are basically trying to promote a positive environment in a very competitive hobby.

Please, don't go easy on me ;) I am very open to criticism, as long as its constructive. If you can see some things I need to add/remove to the site, let me know!

Thanks!

PS: If anyone wants help with the menu navigation system I have, let me know

I love cars. :) I drive a 300 ZX myself.

Very original forumhome layout. I like it.

The colors on the forumhome are a bit different to your homepage.

The purple background is a bit off-putting - doesn't match the blue.

Make the "View Today's Active Threads | Mark All Forums Read" font at the bottom the same as the other fonts.

Overall though, you've done a good job customizing the site - it doesn't look like vB. :)

Thanks for the comments, Dr. I've been trying very hard to make the interface alot more appealing to the common user. Our site aims at more than just the tuner, so we have been getting alot of people who aren't real hardcore into anything; including message board usage.

I'll have to take the color thing into consideration...I've noticed it as well.

Do you have any recommendations as far as offsetting the blue?

Mmm... try the vB Color Scheme Machine link in my sig and just experiment with different color combinations. Surf around, look at other forums - copying a color scheme is not considered "ripping" a design. :) Just don't copy the graphics.

Your site (forums) doesn't display right in Mozilla.

that is really weird....My gecko is showing it perfectly.

I'll check this out...it's certainly not coded this way, as 99% of our user base is all IE.

What do you think of the site overall?
