Does anybody know how some of the buttons are made? Look at PixelJunction, or Forum-Forum.com/forum, or yaxay, vBForumSkins, vb.org, any of the places that have added extra button sets to make things look better. How are these buttons made?
This is the kind of art that I'm tryin to get into, but having a hard time because I'm not sure how they're made. What I'm looking for is to know what programs they're made in, and if anybody might be willing to point me to some tutorials, or even help me.
Thanks :)

photoshop,
some banners are made in 3d studio max.
And super designers use stuff like poser, 3dstudio max, photoshop, bryce, (those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head)

Does anybody know how to make them then? I figured Photoshop was used in some of them, but I'm still not sure how they were made...Thanks :)

Well unless you know how to use and create effective images in photoshop then there's no point explaining :)

I'm not a newbie to Photoshop...here's some of the stuff I've made, and I'm no expert, but I know my way around somewhat. :)

Geez thats quite impressive... i dont know why you need my help hehe
Well basically think of an idea in your head and then try and do it in photoshop.
Sometimes i think of a design and then i make the button for it...
Say if i had a very elegant design i'd go for smooth buttons with no sharp edges and gentle colours with nothing tooo bright
If i had a futuristic design i'd go with some sharp pixel borders and some modern fonts etc

Well I'm not sure how well I'd do at the site designs, such as on top of the categories, and the buttons and so on and so forth. But I guess as with the other stuff I've made (not that it's the best or anything) practice makes ya better. :)
Oh, here's my newest thing, nothing impressive, just a simple background with text...

Thinking about making it the entrance logo to my new site that I'm working on for me, hence the name "radonenter", but we'll see...Not a lot of people seem to like it thus far. :)

I know you want to learn but I just have no time to teach and when I tryed to teach many times before it was very unsuccessful I hate to sound mean but I just don't have any time now. Here are a few suggestions.
Adobe PhotoShop(My Tips):
-Brushes http://veredgf.fredfarm.com/vbrush/thearchives2.html are found somtimes to be usefull.
-Stocks http://stock.d2.hu/ Nice thing to have Unless you take your own pics like I do somtimes.
-Use Blend Modes
^Thats All I could think of now.

Almost normal postbit (trimmed :)):
<table cellpadding="{tableouterborderwidth}" cellspacing="0" border="0" bgcolor="{tablebordercolor}" {tableouterextra} width="{contenttablewidth}" align="center"><tr><td>
<table cellpadding="4" cellspacing="{tableinnerborderwidth}" border="0" {tableinnerextra} width="100%">
<tr>
<td bgcolor="$post" width="175" valign="top" nowrap>
[B]This is what goes on the left (username/avatar/member info/etc
</td></tr>
</table>
<td bgcolor="$post" width="100%" height="100%" valign="top">
<table width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="0" align="left" height="100%">
[B]This is what goes on the right (message icon/subject/message/signature/etc.
</td></tr>
</table>
</table><br>
<!-- spacer --></td><td width="10"><img width="10" height="1" src="{imagesfolder}/space.gif" alt="">
</td></tr></table>
To not have any sperator, just make it so it's one big table, instead of two, one smaller and one larger, then manipulate the images within that, I would imagine. The images at top and bottom are another table again.
I know this might sound a little dumb, but if you have a WYSIWYG HTML editor like frontpage/dreamweaver, you could draw the tables really easily in them, then edit the code to work with vBulletin.
