Is there a hack that does this ?

Viewing the threads of a forum, and you want to delete some old threads or close or move them to another forum, there is a little box on the end of each thread...and puttin a check in the box, then having a option to Move/Close/Delete that thread(s).

Ofcourse it would be admin or MOD option only...

So is this hack around or can some1 whip it together? Cuz going threw each thread, closing it, or deleting it takes a LONG time when you got 1000's of post going on. So I think this hack will do us some good ;)

there are massmove/massprune options in your cp, there you can do this already...

yea but thats not what I want to do...

I want to be able to move certain threads, though Multiple Amounts, to a different portion of my forum.

The mass prune and thread takes all the messages from 1 forum and puts them in another, and I dont wanna do that.

I am looking for the same thing, I try to move a thread and I get "You can not move a thread to the same forum it is currently in. Someone else may have just moved this thread to your destination forum resulting in this error message"

I want to be able to move a thread to a different destination in the same forum,

can anyone help please............?

What you have must be hacked because mine(2.2.9) only lets you move an entire forum to another by date or username.

I want the feature he is talking about for my forum as well. Basically like the multiple quote feature. Where there is a check box next to all the posts and you click a check in the box of all the posts u want to quote instead of quoting a post, typing your reply, copying the text, then clicking back button then quoting another, typing your reply then pasting your text from previous post do do multi quote. Instead just clicking boxes and puts all quotes into the message box and u just put ur reply under them.

Thats how want it for the move/delete feature. Lets use a video game forum for example. Say I have a section named Console and forum is 2 years old but later I decide i want to devide the console forum into seperate forums, like Gameboy, Gamegear, Gameboy Advance, etc. So intead of creating forums for each of thoese specifically and them being empty till peopel make new threads in them and deleting the Console forum that has threads of all the topic, i can go through it and put check boxes next to all threads that are for gameboy topic and move them there all at once. Or delete more then one at a time but not the entire forum. Hopefully the demand for this will give someone the incentive to make this hack or direct us towards a current one that does this.

Thanks

then you must have a hacked version, i have an unhacked one.

when you move threads from one forum to another with the mod cp there comes this:
"Click here to confirm and select those to move."

ok, you ahve to click on the link to select, but it's there it you haven't hacked it out

oh okay, I didn't go that far because thought it would move the entire thing and didn't want to move an entire forum into another one so i didn't get to that step. Would still be good to have a hack that does it like i said though so admins aren't the only ones that can do it.

mods can also do it, you just have to give em the permissions from your acp moderator settings....

can someone make a hack though like the quote hack i saw where u don't have to do it from adminCP. Can just check the boxes of threads to move.

I believe ezboard had an option like this. Here is a screenshot of what I think you guys mean. This would be a pretty sweet hack. It would make it just a little easier to move stuff, BUT, it's not like it's TOO hard already. Remember, these people who makes hacks aren't getting paid, so generally if a hack requires some serious work, which I believe this one would, you have to understand that usually the only was it's going to ever be made, is if:

1. Somebody who knows how to do it likes the idea and wants it for their own forum, so they hack it AND release it...

2. You pay someone to do it for you.

Just my two cents ;) This hack would be cool though.

well because as it is not really needed!
mods can do that via the mod cp.
ok the multiple close/open function as addition isn't a bad thing....

Have you looked at the "Spin Threads" hack?

The EZBoard way is what I want....is it possible to be made?

The SpinThread hack ( https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?s=&threadid=20512 ) isnt quite what i want...the ezboard is exactly what im looking for.

Check the topics you want to play with, and have a pull down option to move/delete, etc...
