Hi

I?m currently using DCForum on my website. I?m thinking about changing to vBulletin. My question is: Does anyone know a perl or PHP News script that works together with vBulletin? I want it to create a new thread in a certain forum area ervery time I post a news. All news scripts I know use their own comment system but I want to use the forum for that instead so readers don?t need to login/register twice.

PS: I?m currently using NewsPublisher at my site. It?s working pretty fine but it?s a bit outdated

Thanks for you help

There are a number of hacks avalible that either grab the news and display it on your existing home page, or provide you with a entire new home page with news and other stuff, like latest threads, pms etc.

There are many, if you just want news, I would suggest PluhNews, as soon as you turn over to vbulletin, or I would suggest a nice system like vbIndex, or vBhome that generates news, polls, and much more if you wish to put the power of vbulletin to work for your main site.

Hope you transfer over :) We like to see new people all the time :)

Thanks!!! That looks very nice!! Hm.. now I´ll have some hard discussions with my community because they love the threaded-view look of DCForum...

Remember vB3 has threaded view as standard when its released ;)

Yes, I saw that. But the vb3 "Mix mode" is not the same becaue it does only show ONE post at the same time and not all together in threaded mode like DCF.

Example here: http://www.rivastation.com/dcforum99/gaga/poll2/1514.html

Maybe there will be a hack for that view option for Pre-DCF users to make their community happy

it has linear, threaded and hybrid which is to view one whole branch which I think is what you want

Which is hybrid? Is that the branch?

Hm... the hybrid only shows a limited number of posts and the posts are all in the same horizontal position. That´s not the way DCF works.
