I guess this is a re-release, I use my own code for this though, so you can set which usergroups can use them. FireFly's hack didn't seem to work for me on my 2.2.8 but this did. With this you can also add other usergroups etc. which is very easy. Maybe you want to allow all mods supermods and admins to use them, but you have a special usergroup for contributors or something, then you could allow them to use custom avatars too.

Attached are the instructions, shouldn't take long at all.

Fantastic, I myself have just become a little tougher on my forum saying that you need 100 posts to get a custom avatar, which of cource is affecting my mods, etc... so this hack wil work great - will install shortly.

Glad you came out with one thats compatabe with 2.2.8 :D I need it to be able to allow custom usergroups avatar access for instance I have a contributing member section and I want them to be able to upload or link to there own.. Thanks much...

Ok a small request for this addon... Can you make it allow only a certain user group to use custom titles?

I was thinking that this ?might? work but I still have no idea where I would need to put it

As you can probably already tell I am still new to php and this code language so please bear with me.. :)

Wonderful, works great. You have to have 1000 posts for it at my board, and I previously had to put an extra 1000 posts onto all of my staff. Big time/confusion saver.

@Ein - Why didnt you just add an Avatar for them via the Admin Control Panel?

User -> Change Avatar

Hey.. I noticed a problem with the Mods SuperMods and Admins Can Use Custom Avatars hack... It shows for the contributing members but when they try to upload or link a avatar they get this message

No avatar specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the webmaster


Can you advise me as to what may be causeing this? Thanks...

Hmm, thats not to do with my hack as my hack just adds a conditional which allows usergroups of your choice in, to change the avatar, I make no modification to the code which affects the actual adding of avatars...

Im having a prob. It works fine but it'll only let mods attach 50x50px avs. How do I change it? *scratches head*
