View Full Version : 1.1.4 or 2.0?

ok - sorry for being this confused on the matter, but here goes...

i heard 2.0 was coming out really soon. but 1.1.4 is out and the performance gains look to be worth upgrading to... IF there's a substantial amount of time inbetween 1.1.4 and 2.0

i have;

pm hack
avatar hack
poll hack,

and countless other number of custom changes to my vb. it would be a major pain in the arse to re-install vb.

here's some stupid questions i had (sorry if this all is in the docs for 1.1.4, but i didn't even bother dl it cause of this dilema)

1) is all the sql info left the same?
2) will the data (account info such as posts and stuff) transfer effortlessly?
3) why did Rangersfan change his name? =/ this threw me!
4) how far away (really...) is release 2.0 of vb?

thanks for any answers to these questions.

1) THe SQL that is used to access the database is all different. It has been optimized for more efficient use. The actual database itself hasn't changed.

2) The 1.1.4 upgrade doesn't touch your Data (see above) except for one template (getinfo)

3) Must like Freddie more or the Rangers had a very disappointing season.

4) I don't have a time schedule but I am going to guess not before the 4th week of November. Of course Jelsoft can prove me wrong, I don't think anyone would mind. :)

On a highly hacked board you may be better off installing the optimization hacks and waiting for 2.0.

Theoretically it should be a week today by the annoucement posted 12 days ago. But two weeks is probably more likely.
