not quite sure yet.

I have been looking around a bit, but i'm not sure yet actually.

Currently we're using Ultimate Bulletin Board Version 5.45c together with SlashUBB v1.3 (Cgi-Script, Copyright 2000 by Flare) to bring the news (posted in a given forum) to the frontpage and an active topics script that also puts the xx latest active topics on the index page, thus creating a portal of some kind.

What I was wondering about is if the same thing can be done with vbbulletin and also if all memberfiles/postings/archives can be easily converted.

The main thing however is the capability of news and active topics.

If you have a link showing an example I'd be very gratefull and I'm sure that it would give me the nudge to purchase vbulletin.

Tnx for your input!

There are a multitude of portal scripts for vB.

1) vBHome
2) vBIndex
3) Custom Portal by Firefly (you can see it on this site's home)
4) vBPortal - based on Nuke PHP

They are all excellent. :) Check out the relevant threads.

No your not

I am currently making a portal actually, and there is Pluh News that will pull news from a forum, and there are many import scripts in te members area at vbulletin.com so you can convert your members, posts, profiles, catagories etc from UBB.
