Hello.

Got a idea for a hack.

On our forum we got a section for debating the latest security news.

I've seen scripts that can rip news headlines from sites (theregister.co.uk for example) , it would be great if someone could make a hack that can rip the headlines then post them on the board (to a certain forum) for discussion.

Hope someone makes this, i think it would be a great hack :D

if you could post those scripts... it wouldn't be too hard to implement it with vb...

can't promise anything though, until i've seen the code... (;))

If you provide sites that have XML newsfeed, this could be easily done.

If you talking about ripping the news from the actual websites, this could be a problem, both legal issues and the issue when the website change design, the script will have to be modified.

Yeah, i agree plain ripping off a site may have legal concerns.

This is a list of sites which syndicate news,

There is a hack like this already:

News2vB - it works very well.

News2vB pulls stuff from moreover. Is there anything similar that pulls the news straight from an RSS feed? Even better, creating one post per headline - and ommitting duplicate posts?

Everytime this thing posts it claims that it's on my ignore list. I checked my ignore list and I don't have anybody on my ignore list. Can somebody help me out, as to why it is saying it's on my ignore list? I think it's showing up to everybody as being on their ignore list. Can somebody please let me know how to change this so it doesn't happen?

I am looking for a hack like this. Are there any that actually get feeds and create new threads for each headline?
