Thanks to the help of 2 X Viverridae on this forum, i have reduced my bandwidth consumption considerbally, but im still using about 8-10 gb a month, i cant understand why, this is concerning me as i still only have 550 active members, is a VB based forum designed to use this much? is this normal?

my forum is located at www.rapdis.com/forum

Its costing me an arm and a leg...

I spotted http://www.ukgarageworldwide.com/forum/ who have over 3,000 members, but they are using 3-5 gb.

It would be nice to know if im doin sumfing wrong or does everyone experience this problem.

also if i take the no-cache tag out, will this effect the forum badly?

how can i cut it down, soon i wont be able to afford to run it no more, it seems a shame as the forum is doin so well.

do you allow attachments?
the'll increase bandwith

also you should enable gzip which also reduces bandwith (but rises cpu time a bit ;))

well i don't allow attachments in my boards..

but it depends on the users. do they use it or not?
if yes, then turn it to no and you'll save bandwith, but if they don't use, it doesn't have effect ;)
