View Full Version : Found 4images Integration Hack!!!
Hi all. While browsing for a script to allow for gallry uploading and such, i came across 4images (http://www.4homepages.de/4images/), a free gallery script that is pretty extensive in it's features.
However, I'd like to have some way to get it to use vBulletin's member database instead of it's own.
Is there any php guru out there that would be willing to take on such a task?

[EDIT]
Well, after reading the threads about 4images, I finally decided to (seeing as it seems the creator of 4images didn't want his code shared here) check out the 4homepages.de/4images forums. seems that an "official" hack was released on the 4homepages.de website.

I haven't tried it yet, so I can't offer any support, but you can get support in that thread.

Its been asked before, and no there isn't a current integration. Please try to find other threads about this first. There has been 2 or 3 major discussions about this. You should of been able to get your answer in one of those threads.

Don't worry about it, I beleiove 4images will be releasing a new version that will fully integrated into vbulletin.
Yes, but how long will I have to wait for such a thing? Did Konqueror end up sharing his code with the developer of 4images or something?
Basically, I'm trying to integrate vB as running as many things as possible on my site. I wanted to use it with 4images for a member's photo gallery, as well as allow members of a certain usergroup to post to another set of galleries, for use as POTD archives and images to be included within news articles and such.
I've got enough enough expenses on this site as is, from server costs to certain licenses for software on the server.... I'd just buy Photopost if not for the fact that i'm already in the red ;)
Well, what do you know.... turns out it was already released, and stupid me (and many of the other people on this site that were looking for it) simply didn't bother to check the 4homepages.de forums (of course, being primarily in german makes it a bit less friendly to english only users)
Here's the URL. Please direct anyone looking for the vBulletin/4images integration to this link:

Yea but I hear its not a very good integration
Yeah, that's how it seemed.... but bad integration is better than no integration, I guess... I suppose I could always look at the code and do one better, or try to :)

Actually the integration is only with the users table...after playing with it for awhile I cleaned it up and have it running on a customer site here (http://www.pondguys.com).
Note that if u download this program download the english packs and its all sorted for u then.
I not tried integration with vbull as yet but i know how to call in random pics from it into Tecks vbull Home Lite if anyone is interested.
Personaly i like it and as a seperate addon to vbull its neat.
Also its dead easy in vbull to add a link to a members gallery by adding another table in profile. Then if u edit the code right then what name they regged under they can use that on 4images and that then gives u a direct link to their whatever pics they have uploaded to the gallery.
this is kinda cool . it would give forums kinda that "yahoo club" feel
u dont need to use the default template you can make your own or even download some better ones so it sort of looks like your board.
