Hmmm.. that might be a little hard to find. I know at VB.com they have alot of info on hosting.

But they don't allow talking about free hosts I think.

That's correct. vB.com does not allow free hosts discussion. I'm not sure about the policy here.

That is very odd oO;;

Do you know why that is Erwin?

Because from experience, most vB running on free hosts are pirated - the feeling is that people who can afford vB can afford to host it. Mind you, this is obviously a generalization, and is not always the case.

My guess would be that most folks interested in free hosting, may not have taken that all important step of actually *purchasing* a license for vB. Or it could be some completely unrelated random reason, like an admin with an unexplained childhood hatred of words that rhyme with whee!

well, if this is only for running a test-board, i don't think you're allowed to (unless you don't have any other boards running with your license)

otherwise, you could also run it on your 'puter ;) (without making it accessible from outside of course :)

see the prob im having is that vb u pay at once, hosting u pay monthly. if my dad cuts the host off i still have vb but not a host to put it on, thats y

I'd say it would be a pain in the neck to pull down the vb licence and make the host shut down the board if site owner uses pirated software or breaks the licence agreement if the host is a free host. They have millions of customers, loosy support which tend to ignore email such as these.. So if I were the coder, I wouldnt encourage people use my script in free hosts either, especially if I have a strict user agreement and tendancy to trace users breaking it...

You can, as long as the general public don't have access to it and its recomended that you use a directory called testvb so that its easier to tell if its a test board or not.
