Whats the difference between 2.6 and 2.7 and how soon will 3.0 be out.
I am going to get registered and want to learn how to make my board real nice for my members, It won't be a pay site, its going to be for a Family tree type, So that means I will paying for it out of my oun pocket.
So I might ask alot of ??s here on vb to help me make it real fancy.
I have looked around at some of the urls here and saw some real nice sites, sure hope I can come close to how nice they have made theirs.

Thanks

It doesn't really matter what the difference is since you can only download 2.2.7 and 2.2.6 is not available. vB 2.2.7 is a bug fix upgrade, particularly to the cookie issues that some board were having. For a full list you can check the 2.2.7 annoucement in the Announcement forum at vbulletin.com.

There is not release date for vB 3.0 at this time.

I was hoping that in 2.7 there would be an upgrade to the help menu, which adds more choices to which can be done when posting, but that must be a add on hack or something. While I was looking around on some sites I saw the help menu was loaded with extras.

Thanks Steve for your help

Willard

I like this being able to reply right from the reply post where you replied to me.
Is that in 2.6 and 2.7?

To be truthful , Mine hasn't been registered yet, it was installed for me when I got the domain and I was told that I would have to register to get any upgrades or help with it.
I plan on doing so, But money has been tight so I hadn't got around to it yet.
My site is non profit and comes out of my pocket for I am retired and working on family tree's and needed it to gather info.

Sorry about it being non registered and I will get to it soon!
After reading on here for a week or so, I see that VB2.6 can do just about anything I need, and I love some of the hacks that I read about.

Sorry but you are running pirated version of vB and this cannot be allowed. You need to either purchase a license or remove your forums immmediately.

Will take care of it first thing in the morning, so I can be legal.
Didn't know it was a pirated version.
Hope I can get help in upgrading it to 2.7 after I get registered.
