Usually hacks that involve the list of forums on your homepage eg. show sub-forums, or show last title in forum (if it's not PPN's version) are culprits.

i'm not really sure but doesn't the top 5 produce a query for every name/thread that is put there?

also the Forum Statistics part uses alot of query's...
comment them out for a sec and see what happens?

yeah if the option is only in the older verisons of vbulletin.. how can i
down-grade my vbulletin to the older verison? I have good reasons so please
dont give me ++++ about it. But I think this is a most for admins. Its
just my opinion.. but again.. how can i down grade?

easy, king sting::::

take your old copy of vbulletin and install it on your server, then use your
database with it changing the config.php file.

just remember : that means you are ready to tolerate all the security holes
that were discovered in the old versions....
