Moving specific forums to a new SQL DB...

I have just created some new forums and I am going to close the old ones but I what to transfer a couple specific forums to the new forum.

The new forums have a new SQL database but both db's are on the same server.

Hope i have explained myself ok, any help would be much appreciated.

just save the forums table, then edited out the lines that you don't want

Th enew forum is up and running, would adding the table data to the new db cuase any confliction?

Cos we have tried this kind of thing already, and all the imported threads were listed as made by me, when i didn't actually make any of them. Some of the posts were showing as that they were made by someone else also.
