My next major update will be with a new server and vB3 of course. but for now, since I'm getting a lot of hits lately, I wanted to improve on a couple things.
The site: http://midibuddy.net/
Main page is vB Portal, followed by many other hacks.
The Colors of the board pages
-Any suggestions with that green/grey combination
Navigation
-A lot of members get confused about where they are going and what they are doing on the site. Any suggestions on placement of links?
Errors
-I've been getting database errors e-mailed to me, however I never see them myself, and I also see some javascript errors on some of the board pages. What could be causing this?
Users posting
-I have over 4k member but I only have 2k threads.. Kinda strange huh? Any suggestions on getting members to post.
Forum placement
-I was thinking about how the forums are configued and I guess this could also go with navigation. Any suggestions?
Thanks for your help ahead of time! I will surely consider andy suggestions, cause I'm just about out of ideas!

Yeh, my publisher seems to be running them a lot lately. They should only appear on the main page however... All the board pages are popup free.

Try it now. I made the tables lighter and the links darker. Seems a little better. I'm not going to redo the colors of the entire site though.

Well, the server update went well. Only problem is, my old server changed me a fair amount for going over on bandwidth!! I used about 30gb's last month. Is that good hit wise? (compared to your forum)
As an update to the initial post ^. I don't have those errors anymore. They were caused by my old host sucking. I rearranged a couple forums. I'm still not confident about the colors; I'm thinking I need a redesign all together.
Finally, I now have over 6,500 members and only 4,000 threads. I do have more dedicated members, but there's still many many inactive members..
edit: I know the main page is out of wack. Go to http://board.midibuddy.net for just the board itself.

Uh... you not only have a popup on the homepage, but I got 2 popups when clicking to go and review your forums - one of these popups asked me if I wanted to install a program onto my computer.
These popups would be the main reason why your forums have a less posts compared to members.

i would never even consider posting on a forum which used popup's.

the only popups you should get are from the main page. There are no popups on the board pages at http://board.midibuddy.net
Trust me.
