Updated zip can be found [ Here ] (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachment.php?s=&postid=293483)

Yeah i know am i over doing it yet? :p well this is my latest hack... once again big thanks to Goldknight for helping me Beta Test...

What does this hack do? (sorry but i really like this hack myself :))

It allows Users to have custom who's online locations to override the regular wol locations... for instance if you're an Administrator and you don't want ppl seeing what you're doing you just add your own Custom Who's Online Location....

It comes with a setup in the vbulletin options section for configuring if moderators can have custom who's online locations and same with registered users (also you can limit this to them via post count ;))

It also comes with a admin cp based file to manage custom whos online locations as well...

Well hopefully yet another successful hack... by all means Enjoy it :)

What to Do?
// +++++++++++++++++++++
Queries to Run (7)
File Modification (5)
Template Modification (2)
Templates to Add (1)
Files to Upload (1) [ admin_wol.php ] admin directory

Well please do enjoy if you like this hack i'd be more then grateful if you clicked install :) regards...

right.. i installed this.. and i dont like it..

when you goto modify Custom Online Locations if you have a massive member count like i do then it takes AGGEESSS to load...

it would be far better if it were editable via user.php thru their profiles...

and also... all of the members locations have now been set to " 0 " for some reason???

okay Mist my bad man... you can do one of two things to fix your problem ::

A) Run these two queries ::

ALTER TABLE user DROP userloc

and then run ::

ALTER TABLE user ADD userloc varchar(250) NOT NULL

or you can open admin_wol.php and find:

WHERE userloc != ''

and replace that with:

WHERE userloc != '0'

that should fix the problem either or... i will update the zip :) regards...

zip updated with that small probably being taken care of... my bad i included a default value of 0 for the userloc reason why Mist didn't like the modification process hopefully it makes it easier now ;) regards...

what about editing the custom online location via user.php???

id prefer that as the page takes ages to load when you have 2500+ members ....

Mist the fix i just made only shows the users who have custom locations... but if you're allowing all your members to have custom wol locations then i will make the adjustment quickly for you if you'd like... regards...

no no... what i mean is i like it how it is...

ive just not let my members have the option of having a COL thru their profile...

id like to only do it manually thru the admin cp...

and i dont like having to do it thru admin_wol.php

could you get it to do it so to its done via when you edit a user thru the admin cp...

i.e. have a field in there....

g-force, i was wondering if you could lend a hand here... i love the hack, but here's what happened.
i ran the db queries, and then went into my vb options to submit, like the instructions say... but i didn't see them.
figuring something must have gone wrong, i ran the queries again. now i know what went wrong (sort of). the options weren't placed in their own section of the vb options. instead, they were integrated with another hack i have on... myBookmarks. so when i look in that section in vb options now, there are the WOL options... two of each.
gah.
now, i'm not a db expert, but i think it's because the settinggroupid is 32 and the myBookmarks querries have the same settinggroupid.
i also have the warnings hack on 40, default pms on 41 and dynamic announcements on 42.
my question is this.
can i delete both of the entries that were made in the wrong location (wrong for me, not necessarily everyone else), and then re-enter them, in say settinggroupid 43?
if that's possible, can you show me how?
and if i sound like a complete n00b here, it's cause i am when it comes to this stuff.

thanks a lot... love your hacks.

Yeah sure Buddha... nah you don't sound like a noob at all... just simply go to this url in your admin directory...

/admin/setting.php

and you will see what you need to help you delete the options and i will go and make some fast queries... be right back... regards...

thanks bud.
and now i will sound like a n00b, cause i had no idea this setting page was there, and holy crap, it's pretty useful.
lol.
thanks again.

yep i didn't know about it either ;) you have to be in debug mode :p but i was just going through php files one day and found it out on accident :p if you're in debug mode i believe that it does show on your admin cp menu panel ;) if not then it doesn't :p regards... glad it worked...

actually, i could still use those querries if you don't mind... you mentioned you could quickly make some up.
i don't know enough about db querries and didn't want to screw anything up.

i deleted all of the duplicate old ones that were 32. should i just edit your set and change all of the 32's to 43's?
would that work?

g-force2k2
09-18-2002, 01:43 PM
erm :p i though i pm'd them to you ;)

When I try and run the queries I get a problem:

INSERT INTO settinggroup VALUES (32,'Custom Who\'s Online Locations', 32)

I get

SQL Error 1064
You have an error in your SQL syntax near 's Online Locations', 32)' at line 1

Any clue?

The hack you made for Mist - I installed it but it's not changing my location at the WOL.
Don't I need to change something else exept the user.php ?

Chris M
10-24-2002, 11:55 AM
This is the correct query...

INSERT INTO settinggroup (settinggroupid,title,displayorder) VALUES (NULL,'Custom Who\'s Online Locations','32')

(If it doesnt appear, there should be a \ between " Who " and " 's ")

BigCheese,
I had that error when I first tried that query and it was just because I had 32 taken up already by an old hack I wasn't even using anymore and forgot about. I went to www.yoursite/forums/admin/setting.php page and deleted that group...freeing up 32. I ran the query again and it was a success.
Maybe this is your reason too? If not, sorry to confuse ya. And like Hellsatan said...there should be a \ between " Who " and " 's " as I noticed as well.

Chris M

Yeh...

vBulletin for some reason parses it out:(

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what to add to this hack to show the user who's looking at WOLs username as part of the location message.
for example: "Hi 'username', I'm blah blah at the moment."
Well, you know what I mean. :)

Chris M
10-24-2002, 01:14 PM
I presume you would add $bbuserinfo[username]...

i.e.

Hi $bbuserinfo[username]! I'm gone Mad..." (to quote someone we know;))

Satan

NTLDR
10-24-2002, 01:33 PM
You would need to install the hack by FireFly that lets you use usenames inside posts, then you can add {bbusername} to the WOL Status and it will be parsed as the username.

Littlebit
10-24-2002, 01:39 PM
I thought I saw that somewhere before! Thanks Hell and NTLDR :)

Probably a long shot, but I'll try asking anyways.... does anybody have this hack or something similiar to this hack for vB 3.5.4?

I am guessing not....but if anyone does...I really want this too. Actually...I'll go one better...I want it so the admin can't view the other admin. :nervous:
