i opened a support ticked related to my owner license at vb.com, but i want let you know also.

here it is the ticket post:
Sir, Madame,

My previous license was a "leased" one, until I purchased the "owner" one.
When I first registered, I used the nickname "nakkid".

I kindly request to have my old license number updated to the new one (xxxxxxxxxxxxxx), under the "nakkid" nickname.
Also, please change my nickname from "nakkid" to "TECK", to reflect better the contents of my site (teckwizards.com).

Please delete, at vBulletin.org, the username "Teck". I attempted to register a new username, but I never received the email confirmation at florenm@xxxxxxxx.com.

Basically, the following information should be updated in my license:
--------------------------------------
Old email: florenm@xxxxxxx.com
New email: florenm@xxxxxxx.com
--------------------------------------
At both, vbulletin.com and vbulletin.org:
Old nickname: nakkid
New nickname: TECK
(please delete the user "Teck" I created)

If you need more information, please don't hesitate to contact me. I will answer in this ticket.

Sincerely yours,
Floren Munteanu
Teckwizards.com administrator
while logged with the username Teck, i was not able to post in the pre-purchase forum.

Ah man, Nakkid seems to fit so much better than Teck :(

Teck, for some reason, reminds me of those teck-deck skateboards...

So do you want me to update Teck or rename Nakkid to Teck and delete Teck?

yes chen. only when you have time, please delete the Teck account and rename 'nakkid' to 'TECK'. the problem is that i cannot add the name 'nakkid' to my current owner license? i dont know why... maybe because the old leased license i registered first. you know better then me what is the best procedure. i added another friend of mines to my current license (tingle). but i cannot do the same with my current nick. what fo you think is the best procedure? i had no updates so far on the support ticket. let me know please.

how is your familly member doing? hope everything is ok now. email me or pm me if you want.

floren.

Ok I changed your username. The reason you can't add it to your new license is that it's registerd with the old one. Login to the members area with your old customer info and remove it, then login with your new customer info and add it there. Or just ask to merge the two customers into one.

aha.. then i have a problem chen. as this owner license, the previous leased license was purchased by a customer for who i designed a web site...
i dont have anymore the license information because my pc crashed.
i tried to get in touch several times issue but i never got a email reply. as long as i dont have a problem with the current license, i dont mind really if i cant add my name to my actual owner license.

what do you recommend me to do? thanks for your help.

I downgraded your account to Registered, add your username now.

i went to the members area and attempted to add the following names:
"TECK" and "tingle"
i got this error:
TECK is not a valid username

what do i do now?

update: i just checked and even the name "tingle" cannot be added now??
i typed only the nick "tingle" on the first empty line and i got this message:
No changes made!

You are using the wrong form... it's http://www.vbulletin.com/members/vbulletin.org.php, not forums.php.

ahaaa.. successssss!!!
it worked chen, thanks a bunch. when you said:
"I downgraded your account to Registered" that means you switch it to leased license?
lol dont leave it like that please... :)

i guess from now on i use only th vb.org form right? not the vb.com one ? let me know please, because if i signup in members area using the vb.com form it wont list any users...

I think what Chen meant is this.

There are two usergroups for members - registered and licensed customer (or whatever it's called). When you add a username into members area it won't do anything unless that username is in registered (moving form licensed to licensed doesn't change anything).

Your old account had it entered, that means that it was in licensed. When you tried to add it with your new account it noticed it's already in licensed and gave the "no changes made" error.

Yeah, what Codename said. :)

Because of you Floren I forgot how to spell nakkid (not kidding here... I need to check my dictionary every time), I hope I won't forget how to spell tech now. ;)
