I'm about to be releasing my simple vbJournal soon. Just have one question :

How important is it to have comments/replies to Journal Entries?
If its not that great. I'll just release vbJournal without the comments first and add that in the next version

I'm running a modified Calendar converted into Journal without comments, and it's working well with members, so comments are not really that necessary, but it's a bonus. I reckon you might as well incorporate it, then release it.

awesome, i can't wait for it's release. comments would be a major plus, but releasing without them and adding them later would be fine too.

comments are done ... Whats left that i want to do is to improve the GUI and incoporate moods (either a real plain one by myself, or the one by TWTCommish when and if he releases it, not to mention let me use it. Got a good feeling though. :) ), and creating an install file.

Does it have a way to do private entires for friends (people you have on your buddy list) only?

Also maybe an integrated "friends" view that uses the buddy list for a user, kind of like Live Journal?

Well, its actually done... and sitting in my comp ... but I've been trying to solve a problem before releasing it .... currently... theres no way for anyone else to view another persons journal... unless his records is in the top 10 list or he enters a new entry. If you guys dont mind.. then I'll just release it like this.

yea, i'd love to see it now. just stick it in the beta hacks forum and some people can help you solve that. :)

hmm, if anyone wants something to do in advance while waiting for journal. Here are some images that are needed to use with the journal... you'll have to edit them to suit your site(not much use of these files here. but the naming conventions are there:) )
